1000% agree with this one yoni and really echoes some of my frustrations with self-proclaimed generalists (noting that, look, if you asked me what i was id have to say generalist).
while many top level roles are generalists, they don’t start off as generalists or actively try to be generalists. they specialise in many many things, build that experience and knowledge and texture and instinct, to the point that they’re a 9/10 or 7/10 in many fields which create that “generalist” status that is actually useful.
a consistent 5/10 is by english definition a generalist sure, but c’mon man. that’s a mediocreist.🧍♂️
